Princess Party

I'm not much of a blogger but I have to get these party pictures out there. I love theme parties, and when you have multiple children, the more fun it is  to plan. Erika of course wanted to have a Disney princess party this year. I was on a budget, so I got most of the decorations from the dollar store.  When the children first arrived, they got to make crowns to wear with some pre cut crowns I made from cardstock and foam wands I found at the dollar store. I placed a bowl with stickers, self stick rhine stones and foam cut outs with glue and let them express their art skills.

Of couse we needed a castle for out little princess, so I decided a castle cake would be appropriate.

Here is the food table. We had a lunch party and kept it simple with chicken sandwiches, fried chicken legs (not shown in picture) devilled eggs, bread with pink strawberry cream cheese and slices of cucumber, fruit salad, cookies, and strawberry sodas and red fruit punch.

  1. I made these favors to give out to all the adults as thank you gifts. They are just eggless chocolate chip cookie dough made into balls and coated with white candy melts dipped in sprinkles and put into little clear bags and tied with  a ribbon. I printed some address labels with her picture and a "Thank you for celebrating with me" quote on cardstock and added it to the ribbon to give it some flair. They were a hit!

I bought these pincess bags and filled them with wands, bracelets, rings, stickers, princess stamps, candy bracelets, fruit roll ups and princess tattoos for the kids.

We didn't have too many kids over, but with the ones that we did have we played a few simple games like pin the crown on the princess and musical princess walk (kinda like musical chairs, except they walked on top of princess cards I laid out on the ground to princess music).

Her leg was hurt that week of her party so she sat mostly. She also wore a Belle costume and Snow white. The party was a success. Everyone had fun, and got to go home with some fun prizes and cute little favors and a tummy full of yummy food. Most of all, our little princess was happy.

A Christmas Story...

Sam and Erika argue about the silliest things in life. With Christmas just around the corner, they've been talking about who will get the most presents, who will make a better gingerbread house, and who put up ornaments nicer. Just the other day, I over heard them saying "Jesus loves me more!" and "No, Jesus loves me more!" I thought it was so cute that they have to fight over Jesus, who loves them both equally. <3
